From what I read on Google Groups' Blogger Help Group, there is no straightforward way to import Typepad blog content export files into Blogger accounts.
Apparently it is possible to export and import among Blogger blogs, in Blogger in Draft, with Blogger-specific .xml files.
When I export my Typepad blog to my PC's desk top it creates a file called import_export.htm
I haven't tried importing that Typepad file into Blogger, but I will. But even if it didn't work, shouldn't it be relatively easy for a developer to write a script or application which can parse the Typepad file, adjust its content and output a .xml file which Blogger can import correctly?
I'm somewhat surprised if such interoperability is not readily available from within Typepad and Blogger.
I have 758 posts, 119 comments and 21 trackbacks on my Typepad blog. Copy-pasting that content entry by entry is no option. I am seriously considering to move my domain name www.josschuurmans.com from Typepad to Blogger, but lack of portability is potentially a real show-stopper.
My two most pressing reasons to want to move from Typepad to Blogger are: (1) template flexibility, e.g. I was able to integrate Disqus on Blogger but not on Typepad Plus, (2) speed, and (3) price.
(I did look at moving from Typepad to Wordpress.com, but I found the plugin hindrance committee too intimidating)
